Western Skies: 2018 Fall Rendezvous
Who? All boys aged 11-17, along with their leaders
Where? Camp Tracey 4701 Mill Creek Canyon Rd, Salt Lake City, UT 84109
When? October 12-13, 2018- Registration begins May 1st
The Fall Rendezvous is a mountain man rendezvous for Scout and Varsity age boys. We will have many events such as Hawk and Knife throwing, Shotgun shooting, Primitive fire starting, Leather Tanning, Traps and Snares, Knife making and much more. Mountain man stories will be told at the campfire Friday night. Come and learn more about the life of the rugged men that were known as Mountain Men.
Welcome to the District 18 Western Skies District website - serving Scouts in Riverton, Herriman, and Bluffdale.
In conjunction with the Vision Statement of the Boys Scouts of America, District 18 of the Great Salt Lake Council, will sponsor activities and events that prepare every eligible youth in our District to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

- Develop Excellence
As a team of Scouting professionals we will strive for Excellence in all we do.
- Create Relationships
We will strive to create and improve relationships with local unit leaders in support of Scouting.
- Provide Effective Communication
Through all means possible, we will communicate in an effective manner to local unit leaders
- Create Model Events
We will organize and facilitate all District events so as to model the best of Scouting
- Emphasize Service
We will provide opportunities for community service to create a service attitude amongst Scouts and Leaders
- Develop Enthusiasm
We will create memorable and impactful experiences that increase enthusiasm for Scouting
- Strengthen Scouts
We will create experiences that support the local units in strengthening their Scouts.
- Support Leaders
In all we do we will ask how this event or activity supports rather than complicates Scouting for local leaders.

We have recently been contacted by the JL Sorenson Rec Center about their merit badge classes. These are great opportunities to help your scouts earn the Swimming, Lifesaving, and First Aid Merit Badges. They are in need of some help with these classes. They are looking for Merit Badge Counselors! If you have an interest in volunteering to help with these classes, please contact us and we can put you in contact with the right person at the rec center!
