Welcome to the Great Salt Lake Council, BSA financial support page. Here you will find many options to help support Scouting in the Salt Lake Valley. With over 77,000 youth, the Great Salt Lake Council strives to continually instill a moral compass by exposing Scouts to physical activity, by offering potential career choices through it's merit badge program, and by developing the leadership skills used to serve other.

Here are some of the highlights from the 2014 year in Scouting for the Great Salt Lake Council:

  • Provided outdoor experiential learning to 27,056 Scouts through traditional outdoor adventure programs.
  • Fed the hungy in our communities by gathering 688,745 pounds of food (a value of $1,225,966).
  • Provided community srvice(123,885 hours, or a $1,900,000 value) through Eagle projects.
  • Recruited 24 new divers Scout groups as part of our outreach to youth of different ethnicity and faith. We currently serve 6,777 diverse youth in our Scouting program.

With your support to Scouting, we can contune to offer the youth in our communities the opportunity to participate in experiences that stretches their abilities and self confidence. There are several options where your donations can help the Scouting movement in the Salt Lake Valley.


There are several methods to dontaing your funds to the Great Salt Lake Council. If you are unsure of whether the other methods are the right choice for you, you can directly contribute funds to the council. Click on the Donate Today tab on the right hand side and your gift will benefit the lives of Scouts in the Salt Lake Valley and will continue the important mission of the Boy Scouts of America of instilling morales into their lives.

The Friends of Scouting Campaign is the lifeblood of Scouting’s fundraising efforts. Each year parents, volunteers, Scouting alumni, friends and business patrons donate time, energy and financial resources to this much needed yearly campaign. Annual Giving provides the budgetary support for numerous improvements to our properties, expansion of Scouting programs into new markets and increases the chance that every young person in our community will benefit from the impact of Scouting.

The James E. West Fellowship Award is a recognition authorized by the National Council, BSA and presented by the Great Salt Lake Council, BSA for individuals and chartered units who contribute $1,000 or more in cash or securities to the Great Salt Lake Council Endowment fund.

Periodically, the Great Salt Lake Council conducts special Capital Improvement Campaigns to underwrite the cost of major improvements or develop new facilities at our camp and program facilities as well as our service centers.
