STEM Camp-O-Ree | Learning For Life

Overview

Come join Learning for Life and the STEM Ambassadors Club for a day full of STEM learning adventures at Camp Tracy Training Center in Millcreek Canyon on:

August 17-2018 – ONLY $5* per person 3 and under FREE! – Anyone present at camp needs to be registered this includes adults.

Only 130 spaces available!

*No meals will be provided. Please come prepared with lunch.

Important Documents

Must be signed by parent/guardian of participant in order to climb.

All who attend (adults & youth) must fill out & have in hand this medical form.

Schedule

Check-in: 9:15 a.m.-9:50 a.m.

Welcome: 9:50 a.m.

Dismiss to Stations: 9:55 a.m.

Camp Starts: 10:00 a.m.

Tara – Biomedical Engineering

Learn about STEM cells and how to extract your own DNA using Gatorade.

 

Dave – Microbiology

Learn about how plants grow in salt water and the difference in their DNA using

microscopes and other testing items.

 

Julia – DNA and Cancer

How do BASE pairing and gene regulators work. Create your own DNA sequence

Bracelet.

 

Kendal – Geology

Study and create your own watershed models and topographical maps.

Archery class an additional $4.00 per person

Pigeons Can Read and Other Interesting Facts!

Learn about Inherited Characteristics and the many different breeds of pigeons through sorting genome games, head crest study, and a service learning project.

Any youth under the age of 7 must bring their own life jacket to participate in the boat activity.
