In our ongoing effort to provide the best facilities for outdoor activities in the Great Salt Lake Council, we are making some big improvements at Hinckley Scout Ranch.
And we need YOUR help to make this possible.
We are installing new spring boxes to improve water collection at the source. These boxes will be installed on the side of the mountain. We need help clearing the side of the mountain of debris so that we can winch up the new spring boxes.
We also need some additional help with several other projects including tent teardown.

Q: What will be provided to participants?
A: Barebones® tents will be made available for all participants as well as cots. Both breakfast & lunch will be provided for all participants on Saturday.
Q: What should participants wear?
A: Participants should come prepared with long pants, long sleeve shirt, sturdy shoes, & work gloves. A jacket is suggested as it will be chilly both in the evening on Friday & Saturday morning.
We also recommend a coat for Friday night is also recommend just in case temperatures drop below the average. (73°/46°)
Q: What sort of gear should be brought?
A: Here is a short list of recommended items:
- Sleeping bag (rated for colder weather)
- Extra pair of clothes to travel home in
- Extra gas cansisters
- Hard hats
- Any additional tools that would be useful in removing fallen or standing trees
