Dear Future Skipper...
Dear Future Skipper!
Hi there! How’s it going? Are you super pumped for Scout camp this summer? Because you should be! It’s going to be a party! My name is Caitlyn and I am super excited to work with you this summer as a first-year camper. As a member of the Skipper (first-year) program, you will get to have a unique experience with fellow first years and do lots of activities no one else in camp is doing. Of course, we’ll be doing a few merit badges including swimming, first aid, and environmental science. But we also get to work on our knot-tying skills, our cooking knowledge, and our camping know-how. We’re going to give you the skills you need to make the best of all your camping experiences, and get you started working through scouting advancements.
This is a week-long program, so you’ll be with me and the other Skippers every class period. However, it will be super fun because you’ll get the chance to make lots of new friends and work with the staff on a more individual level. We’ll be all over camp, from the waterfront playing in the water to STEM learning all about nature. Your week at camp will be what we make it, and I’m super excited to meet you and teach you all I know about scout camp. I’ve been working at scout camp for four years, but I’ve been at camp for ten years! I have so many ideas and I’m super excited to introduce you to something that has changed my life!
If you have any questions, you and your Scoutmaster can contact the camp director and we can answer any questions that you have about camp. This summer is for you, and we will do whatever it takes to make it awesome! Have a great day, and I’ll see you at camp!
